If I sit for a PESCI in one state and fail it, will AHPRA be able to access it for future applications?

THIS WEEK’S QUESTION…?

If I sit for a PESCI in one state and fail it, will AHPRA be able to access it for future applications?

The Short Answer…

Yes- AHPRA gets a copy of every PESCI you sit and it will be used in evidence for future applications.

Something to Keep in Mind

If you fail a PESCI with an employer, choosing a different PESCI provider and/or a different employer won’t change your application with AHPRA. AHPRA will question why you failed your last PESCI and what you’ve done since that PESCI to address the difficulties you faced in the first PESCI.

AHPRA is a national board, which means if you move state they will still have access to the prior PESCI.

There are those that say that different state based AHPRA teams are easier to get registration with, or harder but keep in mind that they’re still assessing you against a national standard with certain criteria that have to be met regardless of state.
