What does my clinic need to supervise me?

Here at People Medical Consulting we like spreading what we know and giving you a clear pathway to your career. We’re answering a different question each week based on queries raised via our Facebook & Instagram profiles.

THIS WEEK’S QUESTION…?

What does my clinic need to supervise me?

Did You Know…?

One of the most common reasons why GPs come to us wanting us to help them respond to AHPRA’s “Intent to Refuse” is because the clinic is not providing the adequate supervision,

What is actually required…?

You will need x2 VR General Practitioners working ONSITE with you 100% of the time, both with a minimum of 3 years of GP experience as a Specialist.

The guidelines technically allow for consideration for a Generally Registered GP however experience has demonstrated that AHPRA do not look upon this favourably.

Keep in mind that everything is subjective and assessed on a Case by Case basis.

What you need to consider is how much time and money you want to risk applying for a PESCI & AHPRA if there isn’t a very good chance you’ll be approved- for this reason, we want you to know what it is that AHPRA ideally want to see.

And that, doctors, is x2 VR General Practitioners working ONSITE with you 100% of the time, both with a minimum of 3 years of GP experience as a Specialist.

How Can We Help?

Our team help General Practitioners with putting together PESCI documents, AHPRA documents including supervision plans and orientation plans. We are also very happy to review a role and make sure it meets AHPRA’s criteria!
