WHO CAN I SIT A PESCI WITH? (UPDATE)

Published on November 15, 2018

We understand we have a lot of doctors eligible for Limited or Provisional AHPRA Registration that require a PESCI to achieve AHPRA Registration.

We want to keep all of you up to date on any PESCI changes and who you can sit a PESCI with!

CAN I SIT A PESCI WITH HWAV?

HWAV has recently announced that they will not be conducting any PESCI’s from the 21/12/2018.

If you were planning on applying to HWAV to sit a PESCI, you will need to apply to an alternative PESCI Provider depending on your location.

Please note, if you already have a PESCI date with HWAV before this period you will still be able to sit your scheduled PESCI. However, no new applications will be accepted.

WHAT PESCI PROVIDER CAN I GO WITH?

Depending on the location of your practice, you can sit a PESCI with either ACRRM or RACGP.

If you are eligible or currently holding Limited or Provisional AHPRA Registration, you will be required to sit for a PESCI prior to working as a General Practitioner at the practice.

ACRRM PESCI

ACRRM offers PESCI’s for all practice locations.

Interviews are held in QLD, NSW, VIC, SA and WA.

They are assigned based on the location of the practice. However, you can request a PESCI in a different location if needed!

Additionally, interviews can be conducted via video conference, but this is generally not recommended by ACRRM. You will also be responsible for organising the interview venue and an invigilator and all costs associated.

How long you will have to book in advance for a PESCI will depend on the state in which you are requesting a PESCI.

As part of your application for a PESCI, you will need to provide the following:

  • ACRRM CV
  • Copy of your Passport
  • ACRRM Position Description
  • Training Plan – if applying for Limited Registration – Postgraduate Training and Supervised Practice

RACGP PESCI

RACGP offers PESCI’s for practices in ACT, NSW, NT, SA and TAS.

PESCI’s are only available via video conference through the Tasmania faculty. Candidates will be required to find a meeting room with video conferencing facilities and are responsible for all costs involved.

Interviews are generally available within 3 – 9 weeks depending on the number of interview requests.

As part of your application for a PESCI, you will need to provide the following documents:

  • Application Form
  • Position Description
  • AHPRA CV
  • SPPA-30
  • Copy of your Passport
